PROJECT

The TEACHUP project responds to a clear need to modernize teaching and learning in the social sciences in Albania and Kosovo, particularly in the fields of political science, international relations, law, and related disciplines. Although higher education institutions in the region have committed to improving quality, internationalization, and student engagement, teaching practices often remain traditional, lecture-based, and insufficiently connected to real-world challenges. As a result, student interest in these disciplines has declined, while graduates often face difficulties in developing practical skills, civic competences, and labour market readiness. Building on the principles of the Bologna Process and the priorities of the European Higher Education Area.

TEACHUP aims to support a shift toward more student-centred, innovative, and digitally enhanced education. The project addresses common needs identified across partner institutions, including limited use of interactive teaching methods, gaps between theory and practice, weak links with employers and civil society, insufficient digital resources, and the need for stronger alignment with European academic standards.

Through TEACHUP, partner universities will strengthen their institutional capacity to deliver modern curricula, foster experiential and problem-based learning, improve student participation, and create stronger connections between higher education and society. By introducing new pedagogical approaches, supporting staff development, and encouraging cooperation among universities and external stakeholders, the project seeks to make social science education more relevant, attractive, and impactful for students and for the wider community
